- Delhi-based NGO, Wishes and Blessings celebrates the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri in a unique way with underprivileged kids.
- 1,500 milk glasses were distributed amongst children dwelling in slum clusters and jhuggis across Delhi/NCR and Jharkhand.
New Delhi, March 01, 2022: With an aim to spread festive cheer amongst underprivileged, Delhi-based NGO, Wishes and Blessings distributed 1500 milk glasses to underprivileged kids dwelling in slum clusters and jhuggis across Delhi/NCR and Jharkhand in order to celebrate the auspicious festival of Mahashivratri.
Wishes and Blessings has been commemorating this pious festival in this unique manner sincepast 5 years. This year, the beneficiaries included street children, HIV positive children, children from orphanages, homeless and underprivileged kids.Strict social distancing and COVID-19 safety protocols were followed throughout the distribution drive.
Commenting on this drive, Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, Founder and President of Wishes and Blessings says, “For the past five years, on the virtuous occasion of Mahashivratri, we haveorganized these special milk drives for underprivileged children. We do not wish to undermine any religious practice or belief, but our way of commemorating this special festival is by giving the underprivileged a glass of milk. We always look forward to seeing the happy smiles of these innocent children while executing these special drives.”
Akarshita, a mother of a beneficiary commented, “It was a delight to see my child drink that glass of milk. Thank you to Wishes and Blessings team for thinking about us and celebrating this festival with us.”
Since 2014, Wishes and Blessings has been spreading happy smiles amongst the underprivileged through their various happiness-centric programs.
